{it's beginning to look a lot like...}

Yes, you guessed it ... Christmas!!

Christmas is my favorite time of year, who doesn't love a time where EXTRA decorating is in order? Lately I am wishing my Christmas decor was all shades of wonderful white, but this would mean changing up the entire scheme of my home {ie. break the bank in the process!}. Doesn't it look so lovely though?

Well, as I posted earlier this year, I recently added a dash of turquoise to my living room. And in keeping with this I thought I'd try to get some turquoise inspiration for Christmas:

My Christmas Tree color scheme has been shades of copper, orange, and brown for the passed few years. I am a bad girl, I get bored fast...much to the despair of poor hubby. Maybe some of you can relate? :) BUT, we all know that orange and turquoise are a perfect pair!! So I'm thinking to added a touch of turquoise to the tree this year to jazz it up. Here's a little peek at what my tree has looked like in years passed:

As soon as I hunt down some turquoise gems and put it all together I'll take some photos so you can tell me what you think. I've got my front entry vignette done already so stay tuned and I'll post pics of that soon too! Any one else as crazy as me and starting their holiday decorating??

I love Christmas too. We new tree every year and the smell that it gives the house is just amazing. I think this year we will get it a little earlier so we can enjoy it longer.

The colors on your tree are yummy!

Great idea to add the turquoise, then you can keep using most of the ornaments you already have. My tree is kinda candy-color themed. It's bright and I really like it. I've been rushing to finish so many other decor projects lately I haven't thought about decorating for the holidays yet!

PS I'm doing a handmade gift swap and I'd love for you to join! Details on my blog!

I love every single one of those pictures!!! The turquoise is just so beautiful! I loved that issue of Style at Home too....lots of inspiration :) Can't wait to see your christmas decor!!!! Isn't it just so much fun? I cannot wait to decorate!!! My husband is sort of putting the brakes on, though ;) I'm thinking I can get away with it in a week or so :)

Great out of the box inspiration! Im just not ready for Christmas thinking just yet...I know I'll be sorry in a couple of weeks that I'm not more prepared. As a designer, you know how crazy these weeks before the holidays are to get clients all ready. I'll get there, and these photos are great encouragement to do something really fun.

Oh I love turquoise & white for Christmas, so beautiful! I love, love, love Christmas decorating and I will be starting shortly as well. Last year, for the first time I put away the sentimental ornaments and did a themed tree of white, pale blue & silver. It looked beautiful but I did feel a little guilty about not using our sentimental ones!

I love all of these images! Decorating with turquoise makes a space seem fresh - more so than the traditional holiday colours.

nancy I am right there with you!! I have been writing post for the last few days. I have a bunch already scheduled to go. I am crazy about Christmas too!!!! Love all of your inspiration images and I think the addition of turqouise is soooo perfect. I was at Wallmart the other day and they actually had some pretty turqouise sparkly ornaments that I thought were pretty. Have fun, I know you will.Kathysue

Loved your tree and the tour of your house! Can't wait to see what else you come up with. All the images are so inspiring, not sure I would add turquoise but I can totally see that in your house! I love the chalkboard on the mantle as well - great idea!

quite pretty! I have not yet decided on the route I'm going to go this year! so so behind on that point... last year was sprayed branches, white birds, feathers and Tiffany's with bits of diamonds... it was so so magical... this year, I'm thinking high drama— rich red roses, gold sprayed branches and jewel toned velvet bows... not sure yet, but I cannot wait to decorate :)

Hope you had a wonderful weekend, my friend,
xoxo

I'm with you on the early Christmas - why not make the glamour last as long as possible? Your sneak peak is looking very glamourous with the rich coppery tones...I can't wait to see the finished effect.
