{top 5 trends of 2011}

After searching through the blogosphere and countless magazines I've put together a list of what I think will be 5 HOT trends going into 2011. Many of these had their origins toward the end of 2010, but I think they will definitely carry on strong into the New Year!

Will you be embracing any of these trends in your own home this year? I've started to add gold and bronze to mine, and I am hoping to add interest with some new fabrics here and there. Any trends you have spotted that I didn't list here? I can also see the 'well-traveled' look popping up every where. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fabulous post Nancy- I wish I could figure out how to draw on pictures like that- do you use Photoshop? Anyhow - I think you are so right with all of these. For me, I'm all about the pink, gold and mixed patterns- fabulous!

Love your picks for the new trends Nancy! I always love to incorporate something new and fresh in my home. I have a warm metal screen that I have recently added so the warmer metals will be something I'm adding this year. Happy New Year:)

I will definitely be boldly mixing patterns in our home. And infusing little touches of brass and rustic surfaces. Great list!

Very Interesting...I agree with you about gold and bronze, rustic finishes...and you know, a few years ago in Paris, I noticed so much pink in the design stores. Back then, it seemed a little shocking and look at it now taking hold. I'm going to Paris in April and will be interested to see the new trends. Great post. I am following you!!!

I think you are spot on. I think because the pink will be added to many decors that other brighter colors will be following. I think it is a sign of people looking for a more hopeful, happy atmosphere in their homes. I am really hoping that the way the Aussie's decorate will take off, I love their use of pattern and color.
I am going to be bring more of cobalt and white into my home this year, or at least that is the direction I seem to be going, we shall see?!! xo Kathysue

I've got a plan to add some equestrian chic to our house :-) Love rustic glam and mixing metals and mixing patterns... just not so crazy about pink!

Love these trends...I'm a little too nervous to mix too many patterns - afraid I'd get tired of it too quickly. Great list!!

Love it, I'll be trying to add some rustic glam to my place this year.

Love the rustic glam look but am going to try to trend #5 this year. First up, our newly carved out games room!

Love that my daughter's headboard is a few shades darker than honeysuckle, I am right on! As for the equestrian look, not hard with 2 daughter's who ride horses, I want to find some paintings of some horses for their rooms!

Also I am with Christine, how do you make a collage and write on your photos? What program do you use?

I'm happy to hear that my unfinished stump table - the one that I started last spring(!) - is still on-trend!! Phew!! Love the eclectic mixed-pattern look but not sure if I'm brave enough to really go for it. :-)

My goodness, can rustic glam be any more amazing than in the last issue of Elle Decor? I am ready to embrace it all, we need to have fun in design, right? Great round-up Nancy! hugs to you

Though I'm not a designer, but I do my own photographic art, I am definitely planning on adding equine chic plus mixing patterns. I love the example you've shown of that darling yellow print chair!
