{sarah 101: jewel-like dining room}

Did you catch Sarah 101 last night?? It was a real keeper. Disclaimer: If you are in the US and don't want any surprises ruined before you see the episode, don't read the rest of this post!!

This jewel-like dining room was over the top glam, which I loved! The scrolling gold-leaf wallpaper had to be my favorite part:

And what a lovely punch of color on the backs of those vintage sheild-back chairs!

This room was all about the details: Sarah talked about taking one motif and repeating it in the room, it truly does take things to the next level!

I just loved the chair rail and panels she created on the lower half of the wall. It was refreshing to see that the panels weren't painted out white. Sarah chose a darker color for the inside of the panels to, but kept the borders white to stand out. And how great is the painted border in the hardwood floor? This repeats the motif as well!

My good friend Kelly pointed out that the mirror used here was the same as that of the bachelorette pad by Erin Gates that I posted yesterday {you can view Sarah's sources for the dining room here}:

All in all Sarah's jewel-like dining room was spectacular, and I loved every bit!

Its ok to spoil it. I can never keep track of when she comes on. Although I really admire her approachable style of design. That mirror reminds me of my lil mirror.

Loved the dining room. I have had my doubts up until this room. I was missing that Sarah touch and FINALLY this room has it! I actually inquired about the mirror today and I'm waiting to hear back.

I can't way this room is "me" but it definitely has class! I LOVE the chairs. Check out Rambling Renovators, she interviews the Geeta, the owner of the home of this dining room makeover!

I loved the wallpaper, mirror, sconces and artwork- also loved the gorgeous fabric on the backs of the chairs. I thought the space turned out just like a jewel box and was very very pretty. And ps, the Erin Gates space is beyond fabulous...seriously my dream home!

I love absolutely everything that Sarah touches. She is the queen of mixing patterns and fabrics. Fabulous.

I liked this room the best so far but then, I have always admired her style. I like the fact that she is choosing more pattern and colour over her signature "shades of white" and texture.

I am sooooo jealous! I LUV Sarah. I did not even know she had a new show. HGTV Ca is soooo much better then USA. We will be lucky to get this show in a couple years! All they show here is endless house hunting shows. She is my favorite after Jamie Drake. When I visited Toronto last summer I went to that discount fabric store she always goes too, bought fabric.

I don't usually notice the little details in a room, but the mirror in Erin's room jumped right out at me after seeing Sarah use it!

I LOVE the wallpaper - the colours and pattern are so beautiful. I would have painted the lower walls all one colour, though - probably the lighter grey. And love that she painted the ceiling. It really makes the crown moulding stand out and adds to the character of the room.

If you want to find out how the homeowners feel about their new dining room, check out Jen's post at Rambling Renovators :-)

I loved every bit of it too. My two top favourite things were the fabric on the chairs and the lovely detail in refinishing the floors. Classy end result!

Nancy we don't get this program in the US as far as I know??? I wish we did, I adore anything done by Sarah and this room is no exception. Love the Greek Key throughout, one of my favorite design elements. The colors are soothing and fresh all at the same time. Love it and thank you for sharing, this is the only way I get to see it,Kathysue

Hello Nancy! First off, thank you for the kind words while I have been unwell—you are so sweet, and I'm definitely on the mend now. It was the oddest thing.

Hope you are having a wonderful week,
