{mirror, mirror, on the wall...}

A while back I posted on the topic of layering mirrors. This is a look that I adore and wish to try in my own home one day! However, I hadn't really given much thought to the different ways to create a mirrored wall. Once I laid eyes on the fabulous home of Nicole Cohen featured in Rue, it got my wheels turning! Now it feels like I am constantly spotting a fresh and modern take on the mirrored wall. I particularly love the updates on the mirror tile idea, this look has come a LONG way from the 80's!

How about closet doors? The perfect spot to add mirror:

What a great way to open up and add light and space to any room. Never underestimate the power of mirrors!

Mirrored anything, speaks volumes to me. Expect all of the cleaning and dusting that takes place.

Great pics! I used to think that mirrored walls were so 80's but these are all so chic and really do wonders to open up small spaces. :)

Such lovely images! I'm loving the mirrored walls and the mirror paneled wall. If done tastefully, it can be such a transformer, as shown in these well selected photos!

I am such a HUGE fan of mirrors. I don't care if it is eighties. It makes every room/area look better and LIGHT! and at night they sparkle. I have 3 sets of 12 inch beveled mirrors in my hallway. (looks like those french mirrored doors). One side of my galley kitchen is a mirrored backsplash and my interior doors have mirrors on both sides. The mirrored doors are actually on of the least expensive "special" order doors at HD, standard size door is about $175.00. Oh, and you can glue all kinds of trim and appliques onto mirror (spray back silver first.). Boxes of mirrors are very cheap and you can cut your own tiles from those with a glass cutter score tool.

I am pretty much obsessed with mirrors! I feel like I have more mirrors than artwork and often ponder "how many mirrors in the same room is too many?!" I put mirrors in the doors in our bathroom and I love what it did to the space!

Love mirrors in interior design. And these definitely aren't 80s mirrors! I really like the look of panels with mirror insets.

Nancy you know that I am a mirror junky, I have mirrors everywhere in my house, on doors on the back of cupboard walls and hopefully someday on my entry closet doors. That has been in the works for Ever!!! Love all of the above images. Would you believe I thought at one time of using mirror on the backsplash in the kitchen but upon doing a trial I realized it double all items on the counter and that drove me nuts since I am kind of a neat freak!!! Lovely post as always,

Beautiful collection! I think my favourite is the tiles of mirror (in the frames) but they are all gorgeous. Keeping all that mirror spotless would be a bit of a task! The key would probably be to keep it out of reach of tiny little hands. Say, about 4 or 5 feet up the wall. :) Happy Spring!

I love mirror walls when done with elegance - which all these images clearly are. I think a mirror is a key item for any home.

P.S Just came across your blog and loving it

The boyfriend and I have so many dang mirrors in our home. Friends probably think we REALLY like to look at ourselves..ha. But in all truth we're just both addicted to them. I think if I were to do this I'd try the more architectural route like the photo from Apartment Therapy.

Fabulous images, I have also developed a huge crush on a good mirrored wall! Another one I like is Louise's (from Table Tonic blog/shop), in her (previous) home that was blogged about. It reflected a beautiful green backgarden into their living room, and is stunning. Loving your blog, and thanks heaps for following mine :)
