{lusting: madeline weinrib mandala rug}

I have a major design crush on Madeline Weinrib's fabrics and rugs. Her prints are fantastic! I am particularly lusting over the Mandala rugs, I'm sure that you have seen these around the blogosphere. I heart medallion prints in general, so this line of rugs is right up my alley. Bold, graphic and beautiful!! But ... I have a little problem. A ten-pound furry {and very cute} problem to be exact:

Here's the scoop: I have wood flooring throughout my home. Not a single inch of carpet. I have a total of 3 rugs {front door, dining room, back door}, so out of about 2000 sq feet probably 30 sq feet are covered in rugs. Where does my super sweet and loving fur baby go when he is feeling a little ill? Straight to a square of rug. It never fails! So to make a long story short this rug is not on my immediate wishlist because:
Fur baby's puke + Fabulous Madeline Weinrib Mandala rug = Me crying for weeks

So for now I'll stick to the images in my inspiration file :)

There are so many gorgeous colorways to choose from, my current favorite is the Champagne Wool & Silk Mandala {farthest right}, go here to see even more!

PS. I should point out that as I write this post my loyal little fur ball is curled up next to me on the sofa. I love my puppy and am more than happy with my current lack of rugs ;)

If I could fall in love with a rug, this would be the one! There isn't one color combination I don't absolutely love!!! I have a rather large fur baby (75lbs) and would pass out if I saw his muddy paws on one of those beauties :D

So for right now I'm with you, I'll just have to dream :)

If you're interested, I'm having my very first giveaway on my blog - chevron ruffle pillow, chalkboard coasters, and thank you cards. If you get a chance, I'd love for you to stop by!

I feel the exact same way. Our dog only ruins the carpets, never the floors. I just can't make an investment in carpet knowing what he'll do to it

Not *quite* as fab as the Weinrib original, but West Elm has a passable dhurrie version that could tide you over through the furbaby vomit phase...

Nancy-
I just started reading your blog and I love it! I also love that living room in the photo from shopgramercy! I'm in the process of changing my living room and the colors I'm going for are brown, blue, coral and green. Do you think that would work? My new couch is brown burlap (it's so awesome). I planned on having the base colors be brown and blue with pops of green and coral.

Love your blog!

One day I so hope to have a MW rug- just adore them. And I feel your pain...kids, dogs- sigh.

Glorious and Agree, and at least until that adorable thing is an adult! FYI: ABC has great sales and they have her rugs on sale but they are called "Amagansett" collection. They have the exact same names of the rugs but they are not identified as hers. Including this rug. Check it some time

I'm right there with you on dogs and beautiful rugs. I've resorted to seagrass rugs which don't cost a fortune if I have to replace them. Would love a MW one, but not sure it would ever happen for this very reason.

The rugs are totally gorgeous, but not as cute as that little furball! A worthy trade ;)

I am in the same boat! My dog always heads for the rug to lay down after walk in the rain, or to eat the tin of sardines he stole or to urp up those said sardines! I so want a lovely rug, sigh..... I will stick with my Home Depot off white shag that hides it all!

Love those rugs. I also have a similar problem. I need a new rug for my living room and my dog likes to use an area rug as a pee pad! She's still a puppy but it's a problem none the less. I may opt for the FLOR carpet tiles. They look great without spending a small fortune!

I have the same problem only I wish it was a little puke to worry about. My will chew on the corners if left unsupervised. I've been lusting after a MW rug since I saw Angie Hranowsky's beautiful living room with one!

MW rugs are so classically beautiful a forever rug that is for sure. I must say I think fur-baby trumps great rug. He is the cutest little guy, what kind of puppy is he and is he full grown?

I hear you! I've always loved pretty rugs and always had to consider our fur baby's puke too - I once had a great suede rug that she ruined and we only had it for a couple of days! But when they're so cute, it's something you just accept :)

That is one cute little puppy! And, yes I feel you pain about rugs. I have 2 big Old English and rugs are not in my future either :(

I have seen these rugs popping up on the blogosphere so thanks for featuring them! I have the same issues with my furbaby too so no pretty rugs for me.

01 Lovely inspiration
02 Your dog is beyond words cute
03 I completely understand...

The only carpet we have is one in the sitting room and carpet going up the stairs. That's it. Everywhere else is concrete and wood, and of course, my pup finds the only carpet as well :)

You definitely have the cutest little "problem" one could ever wish for ;) I love the rugs, the medallion print is so pretty. Rug inspiration is very much appreciated!!

I love this posting, and the mandala rugs are so gorgeous. Do you know anything about the chairs in the top pic? The pale blue ones paired with the platinum mandala? I love them and would love to find out where they are from! Thanks!
