{lusting: gilded mirrors & more}

Today I am dreaming of glittering gold gilded mirrors ... ornate or simple, they can add flair to any modern or traditional space. I dug up my favorite examples from my inspiration files to share with you:









Simply divine! A gilded mirror is definitely on my personal wish list. I'll be keeping my eyes open every time I go antiquing! And on that note, I'm lusting over a few other gilded items, such as these glorious bowls:


But I am thinking of trying my hand at a little paper mache/gold leaf DIY version:


And speaking of gilded DIYs, have you come across this fab IKEA DIY from Haute Khuuture? Julie gilded the inside of the drum lampshade and it turned out delish:


It seems as though I've got gilding on the brain ;)

I had a gold spray paint party last night and looooved it- most things look better gilded if you ask me:) This was a stunning post- I adore ever single mirror- I love how an ornate mirror looks in a more modern space- just perfect!!

this is one gorgeous post..i love mirrors( as much a chandeliers) and a touch of gold only makes it better..love all the images you have shared here..particularly the ones with large mirrors..i have a huge gilded mirror in my dining room and it does add so much to that room..thanks for sharing..have a lovely day..xx meenal

Weeeird...we've been having the same dream! I too have had my eye out forever for an old, antique gilded mirror like one of these babies...not easy to come by :(

The exposed brick and ornate gold frame stopped me in my tracks. And then the bold graphic drapes and teardrop lamps? So wacky and so elegant! Love the mix.
