{weekend reads + a fab dressing room}

Happy Friday! I'm so looking forward to this weekend, got lots of plans with family & friends {it's my Dad's 60th Birthday on Sunday - Happy Birthday, LOVE you Dad!}. I thought I'd leave you with a couple of great reads for your weekend, and I hope you have a wonderful & restful two days as well!

Have you checked out The Holiday Guide by Emily Henderson? I learned of it over on MadebyGirl, it's a whole 238 pages of Christmas wonder-ness {and no, wonder-ness is not a real word}. Gift guides, fashion, wrapping, DIYs, I could go on! Click here to start flipping through.

And another wonderful issue of House of Fifty hit virtual news stands this week, a must read!!

I thought I would share one of my favorite spaces from this issue, a dressing room choc full of color & femininity :) Check out the issue to see even more of it!

Recognize those wardrobe doors? It's those fabulous Ikea PAX units!!

Very sweet little bowls line the drawers for jewelry storage ...

Very pretty! I'm lusting over that settee too. Now all I need is a ROOM dedicated to my clothes & shoes and I'm all set! ;)

I have so much reading to catch up on. I'm off to lunch now to read up on my latest Elle Decor, Martha, and BHG. Online reading will be done this weekend. I really want to read your Sarah's House posts but don't want to spoil it for when it airs here.

I was planning to read House of Fifty this weekend...now I definitely have to, just to drool over that dressing room.

OK, I am NOT a scrouge but I do tire of all the endless holiday decor and gifts and all that stuff BUT that looks like a great guide from Emily!
HUGE Dressing Rooms: GORGEOUS. However, for ME, this is another thing I am tired of. They are all over the place now which makes it seems like every has one and/or everyone must have one. But more then anything it is the contents that makes me kind of sick. Overindulgence to the max. Not just 3 pairs of killer expensive shoes but 100. Come on, buy 5000 pairs of shoes with that money for kids that really need them.

I have the same glass table top from Ikea in my office :-)

Originally my weekend was looking pretty quiet, but it's managed to get busy. Going to a craft show and a crepe restaurant for lunch tomorrow.

Happy Bday to your dad! Have fun!

Lovely links, Nancy! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, celebrating with loved ones—so exciting :)

We definitely must get together for soup—I think every Friday they make it—how about then?

xx, Sarah

Not even kidding you, that exact settee was at value village last week when I went. In all it's mustard glory! Would you kill me if I told you it was 40 bucks too?! If only I had somewhere to put it, you know I would have brought it home with me!!
That dressing room is full of delicious shoes...! not to mention how organized everything looks!
Happy b-day to your day and happy weekend to you!
xoxo
