{trendspotting: dodecahedrons}

Yes, you read that title correctly: dodecahedrons. Does it take you back to Math 8 or what? A dodecahedron is a polyhedron with 12 pentagonal faces or sides, and these geometric beauties are apparently popping up everywhere in the design world:

Ceiling Pendant - Ralph Lauren Home
Nesting Table - CuffHome

You may recall that several weeks ago, I entered my dream kitchen into the AyA BlogPodium bound Kitchen contest, and I won! I am flying out to Toronto to attend BlogPodium thanks to the wonderful people at AyA Kitchens, and I am so excited and SO grateful for the opportunity! Low and behold, my dream kitchen just happened to include a pair of raw wood dodecahedron ceiling pendants ...

So excited to head out to TO for my very first time later this week!!! I'm also excited to meet so many of my blog friends in person for the first time :) Tomorrow I'll be packing & planning outfits, and I'll be sure to tweet & snap a ton of pictures to give you a recap of all the events next week.

i fell victim to this trend! this is like a confessional. i was CRAZY over the MOON about any form of polyhedron. So while strolling thru Home Goods one day, I came across a light fixture that was too good to pass up. It's a RL Polyhedron light in brass and was on sale for $69.99 down from $470. I was so excited. But in my closet it sits because my ceilings can't handle its length. I may have to post it on my blog to sell :(

Love your tribute to all things dodecahedron! Great job compiling this!!!

I've seen this shape everywhere but didn't know what it was called, so thank you! Love the way you used it in your design board.

I've seen these lately and they kind of remind me of something in the 70's. I like the light fixtures quite a bit.

Congratulations! That is so fabulous- we are all so proud of you! Your design is fabulous. WE bought a fixture like that just because it was great ( at Home Goods) and neither of us has a place to put it! Now THAT is a shame!
