{bedroom brass + a winner}

I don't know about you, but a brass bed gets me every time. I love the look and I'd love to find a pretty one some day for my guest bedroom {or maybe two}. Do you happen to have one? And if so is it new or were you able to find an antique?

Ok, this canopy style version featured in this month's issue of Lonny completely stopped me in my tracks! The combination of the bed with the convex mirror and the black walls is pretty amazing ...

Wow right? Love it! In a dream world I'd have a pair of these side by side in a guest bedroom with a little table in between and some chic hotel-style bedding :)

Ok back to reality ... I can't leave you without announcing the winner of the Blurb giveaway! Thank you to all who entered, and of course a big thank you to Blurb for collaborating on this giveaway. And the winnnneeerrr issss ......

Danielle of Urban Wall! Congrats to you! I will email you shortly with all the deets you will need to start creating your own Blurb book.

I loved that bed in Lonny too. I hope to have a canopy bed in a guest room at some point just like this.

Congrats to Danielle - the Blurb books are pretty awesome, she's going to have a great time creating a book of her own :-)

Who knew in the 80s/90s that brass is would make a big comeback!? Still not a fan of polished brass, but the brushed/antique brass is lovely. So much warmer and richer than the brushed silver metals that have been popular for so long.

Gorgeous post! That bed is so to die for! I love that brass is making a comeback. My husband and I bought and renovated a house built in 1922 this year and so many of the small little finishes are brass.

Congrats danielle! As for brass beds, love them. I have an iron bed that I am tempted to spray paint brass, but that might stress the husband out!

Love how what was old is now new again. Who thought the faux bamboo, floral wallpaper, and once consider "yellow brass = ugly" from an earlier era would make such a huge come back in a more refined format!

I am in love with them all!

congrats Danielle for the book! So jealous!

Nancy, if you are looking for brass beds or four poster canopies, check out Corsican. I have two of their beds and they are very well made. They also did custom work for me where I re-designed one of their beds because I wanted a padded headboard plus the metal with a crown on top.
