{sofas at the foot of the bed ...}

Do you have a sofa in your bedroom? I love the idea of a little two seater sofa at the foot of the bed. It adds functionality to the room as well as a luxe and cozy feeling! This look would be on my wishlist for sure.

I'm particularly drawn to examples where the back of the sofa does not go higher than the bed itself. Are you drawn to the idea of a sofa at the foot of the bed? Have you ever tried the look?

I love this look! If your bedroom is large enough, it would give it that cozy relaxed feel we are all after. So convenient to perch while getting ready or to relax without crawling into bed. Wish I had room!

I've tried an upholstered bench at the end of the bed. Even though I liked the look, it ended up being a laundry/clutter magnet. So I ditched the bench in favor of a slightly cleaner room. :)

I had been noticing this lately...and I agree the back can't be higher than the bed.....and I think it looks better with a king sized bed than a smaller one.

This is such a timely post for me.

I've been in my place for over two years now and I've slowly been working from room to room setting things up (painting etc.). I have ideas and plans for all the rooms except for my bedroom, which is in the loft with more space then I know what to do with, doors everywhere, and an odd nook thrown in.

But I think I've finally come up with a layout that will use the space the best. I was thinking about using two chairs to make a sitting area. But after this post, I like the look of the sofa at the end of the bed better. And I think it will help with the flow of things in the room.

I fell in love with the last picture you linked. Anyone have an idea where I could get a sofa/loveseat similar to that? I don't want to go wider then 65" and keeping it lower profile would be ideal. I've been checking and searching outdoor furniture, because that's what it reminds me of. But all are so dark, can't find anything similar in that color.

Thanks for the great post and more ideas. :)

I love sofas in a bedroom, but mine is too small to handle one. Isn't Jamie Mears bedroom the shizz? Love that one!!!!!

I love that idea. I do agree with you, Nancy, that the back of the sofa should be shorter than the bed height. I also prefer pairing a sofa with a larger bed and like it most when there is a coffee table with it.
