{spring pastels: lusting for lilac}

I'm not one to generally gravitate towards shades of purple in interiors ... but lately I've been seeing beautiful examples of lovely lilac, and I adore it! Maybe it's because I'm dreaming of spring and all the pretty pastels that come along with it?

Everything looks so calming and airy in these spaces and I think it comes from the fact that in every example above, lilac is being paired with a heavy dose of crisp white and soft creams. So inviting, don't you think?

I would never think to use purple in my home either, but that living room is gorgeous!

I LOVE it! My last residential client wanted at least every room to inject a bit of her fave color purple...we did lilacs and lavenders for the bathrooms, a mauvish/grey for her master, jewel toned purples in the dining and it looked so FAB when all tied in together! Loving that radiant orchid is putting the hue on everyone's radar. Especially for spring, the toned down versions are soooo soothing! Perfect post!

Peace. Love. LOL!

Lilac is that color I never use, but adore when I see it in soft shades paired with grey/silver/brown. Definitely an under-appreciated color.
