{summer inspiration: palm pretty}

Beach Riot swimsuit

I've been coveting all the pretty palm-prints out there lately - so once I laid eyes on the bikini above {from Target!} for a steal of a deal, I just had to buy it! Bring it on summer, I'm ready for you!

{house tour: michelle smith}

I fell for the lovely & natural style in the NYC home of designer Michelle Smith. She committed to a neutral palette and created a clean & crisp feel throughout:

How lovely and ethereal! I loved the shoe closet and the stunning brass bed seen directly above. What is your favorite part of Michelle's home?

{spring fashion must-have: espadrilles}

It seems that comfy-chic espadrilles are everywhere this spring - so I'm on the lookout for the perfect pair! Of course if my budget would allow, it would be no question, I'd choose the Chanel two-tone leather espadrilles in a heartbeat. Here's a little spring fashion inspiration, with a few examples showing how you can get the look at any price-points:

No.1 - Aldo $35 / No.2 - Valentino $795 / No.3 - Loeffler Randall $195 / No.4 - J. Crew $60 / No.5 - Castaner $145 / No.6 - Chanel $799

{house tour: a san francisco dream}

Happy Friday! I wanted to end off your week with one of the best house tours I've seen in a very very long time. Seriously. I know most of you have likely already flipped through the pages of the new issue of Lonny magazine, but JUST IN CASE, you can't miss this one. I couldn't believe how many of my 'dream home' wishlist items were present, it's like owner Susan Greenleaf and I share a brain or something ;)

Black door and black garage, my fav!

Herringbone entry and millwork to die for.

Blue & white vases and grid panelling in the dining room - I did a version of this in my own dining room!

How amazing is that bathroom? The marble vanity, the sconces, and the walk-through to a gorgeous black closet.

I DIE for burled walnut. It's a serious dream of mine to own a burled piece one day.

Ok, is this getting a little crazy or is it just me? If you've been reading this blog for a while you will know of my obsession with this wallpaper. I need the Scalamandre zebras in black, for my future powder room of course.

Saarinen tulip table. Another dream.

AH-mazing. Into the 'dream home' inspiration files it goes!!

{bits & pieces: my life lately}

Happy mid-week! As I had mentioned last week, I wanted to post a few photos of my staycation! It was a perfect week to be off work - we had some summer-like days here in Vancouver, and we managed to visit some of our favorite spots. It was so much fun playing tourists in our own beautiful city!

We took tons of walks around our neighbourhood - and I snapped a few iPhone photos of my favorite house - I always stop and take in all the details when walking by. The landscaping alone is meticulous, but I think one of the details I love most is the strip of black trim around all of the windows. Oh, and the uber charming awning of course:

We did a lot of eating. A LOT. Why does that always seem to go hand in hand with vacations? One of our favorite spots in the city is Meat & Bread. Perfect name, clean branding, and amazing sandwiches!

We got a few pretty shots of the city in all of it's sunny glory! Just below is a view from Granville Island {taken only with an iPhone, I'm proud of that, lol!}:

And English Bay was looking fabulous trimmed in tulips:

We had high tea at Soirette; a definite highlight! Aren't macarons the most photogenic food?

It was a great week! And if you've been following on instagram, you may have noticed that last week hubby & I began working on a little succulent garden in our backyard, we got some pretty pots yesterday and once we've completed it I will definitely show you the finished product, so stay tuned!
