Before & After | Bedroom Bliss

I adore finding fabulous examples of how millwork and architectural details can completely transform a room. Case in point: this stunning master bedroom makeover by Toronto-based McGill Design Group proves a dark & dreary traditional space can be brought  a new, bright, and airy feel. Notice how the bones were already there in the befores, however although the room was expansive it totally lacked character:

I love the effect of adding all the white panelling, as it draws your eyes upwards to the lovely shade of grey above the tray trim. That tray ceiling really made the room feel cold in the befores, however the visual result of adding panelling below completely changes the overall feel! Even the old mantle was swapped out for a better proportioned marble fireplace. The gorgeous chaise is from Colleen McGill's own furniture line, as is the tailored mahogany bed. The end result is elegant and intimate, don't you think?
