Summer Showhouses Part 2 | Coastal Living's Idea House

As promised yesterday, we are on the second leg of our summer showhouse tour, and today we are taking a look into Coastal Living's Idea House located in historic Newport, Rhode Island. The entire home is a masterful study in blue & white, layering textures, pattern & style mixing all by the one and only Mark D. Sikes. Coastal Living magazine's team also included A. Tesa Architecture and Horan Building company to design and build this gorgeous bay-front home. If this doesn't say seaside luxury, I don't know what does. This home is open until September 4th, so do plan a visit if you are near by!

It seems to me, Lee Radziwill's latest book is on everyone's coffee table! I need to grab a copy ...

And then there is the cutest butler pantry with a to-die-for detail of medallion wallpaper on the ceiling.

The master bedroom is so pretty and calming, I love the mismatched bedside tables and artwork vignettes.

A tiny detail of a painted border around the window and crown molding to match the tile border makes this principle bath extra special.

Every bedroom in this house is layered with pattern and has a special moment with a statement headboard, mirror, or wallcovering:

It's all buffalo check in the perfectly handsome boys room - and that's FABRIC edged in trim, not wallpaper by the way!

I love the nod to 60's ultra-mod here:

And that view!!

I mean, the basement entertainment space is nicer than my entire home!! I love everything in here including the diamond sisal rug, the art wall, and the wallpaper in the adjoining room:

And of course, it wouldn't be coastal living without the perfect pool!
