High Point Market | Fall 2017

Bungalow Classic, furniture by Highland House

I can't help but admit to being a bit jealous every time High Point Market comes around - seeing all of the glorious images on social media makes me wish I could travel there. But on the other hand, thank goodness for social media (and especially the newer addition of insta stories) to help me see so much of the market I almost feel like I am there! Here's a round up of some of my favorite moments, and I'll list 5 commonalities & trends I am seeing from the current show taking place this week:

Bungalow Classic appears to be the Bell of the Ball this season, the new line they have created for Highland House is incredibly gorgeous, and they are right on the money with the deep green accents. All the larger furniture items are neutral which is practical and pretty. Notice the pom pom, tassel, and Buillion fringes:

Another vignette with an Hermes scarf framed, always been a favorite idea of mine:

Thibaut always mixes patterns well:

Mark Sikes hits it out of the park again with his fresh look for his Henredon collection. I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I spotted the vintage-inspired Asian armoire:

I'm also obsessed with the entry table, not only because of the tailored tape-trimmed skirt, but because of the octagonal wood top:

Alexa Hampton is amazing, she created an Apartment showroom complete with living, dining and bedroom. She shows that green and blue play so well together, and I love this secretary desk below:

As it turns out, in what may be the chicest guest room furniture arrangement of all time, paired twin beds were seen every where:

I love that High Point is a chance to give artists their time to shine as well, such as favorites Kayce Hughes and William McLure:

There is just too much to love in every image! Are you at High Point? Any favorites? Some notes to take from the above examples:

1. Blues and greens are going strong
2. Note that solid velvet pillows are on nearly every sofa above
3. Details like fringes, tape trims, and fabric lampshades are not to be missed!
4. If you have the space for it, go for twin beds with stand out head boards in your guest room
5. Art makes the space - sometimes a whole vignette is planned around it!

If you are like me and following along from afar, be sure to check out the hashtags #hpmkt2017 and #highpointmarket to get your design fix.

Do you have any information on the lamps with the white base and polka dot lampshades? I love these!
