{a fabulous mirror diy}

The room above is one of my all-time favorites, and I've posted it before, but today I'm looking specifically at that magical mirror. Isn't it fabulous? I've always been drawn to the words stenciled sideways on this antique mirror, and it's oh-so-chic in written in French.

I've found a few more photos of this mirror and room since, and I've tucked them away in my DIY wish-list folder for some time. Don't you think this would be easy to pull off? I just need to find a fab mirror.

Then when I saw a similar project on Made by Girl last week, I got re-inspired to give this a try! I will keep you updated on my mirror hunt :) Any one tried a similar mirror DIY before? Did you used paint or stencil stickers?

Oh, and I've got to decide what I would write on it of course!!  But I am thinking français will be the way to go :)

{house tour: maryam keyhani}

Canadian jewelry designer Maryam Keyhani has serious style, and I fell in love with the recent images of her home featured in both Canadian House & Home and on The Coveteur. Her jewelry line is full of bold, statement making-pieces, and so is her Parisian-chic home which she decorated herself. Here's a peek {to see more, grab a copy of the August issue of House & Home and go here to get a full tour on The Coveteur}:

What glamour! You can tell Maryam has picked her statement pieces carefully, this space is so perfectly edited. And the artwork throughout really grabs me. Hope you enjoyed the house tour as much as I did!!

PS. I am guest blogging over at the lovely blog Simple Dwellings today! Amber has such a wonderful & fun series where she asks bloggers to think of their blogs as an actual space. If your blog was a room, what would it look like? Fun, hey? Well I've answered over here with some fabulous rooms I identify with, check it out!

{eye candy: shine by sho}

Susan Hornbeak-Ortiz {S.H.O} has created a lifestyle line to die for! She has such a fashion-forward sensibility, and you can really see her artistic talent in every piece {she just happens to have a masters in fine arts in sculpture and installation!}. I think what I am drawn to most is the glamorous regency style, mix of modern & vintage, and well-travelled look the line conveys. I'm pretty sure you are going to agree:
{my house literally NEEDS this piece above. Like, REQUIRES it ... Gorg.}

I don't know about you, but I am dying over here!! I'll take one of each please ... hey, a girl can dream, right? Visit the website for a little more S.H.O & tell :)

{sofas back-to-back}

I'm always looking for interesting placement of furnishings in a room. Have you come across arrangements where sofas and/or chairs are facing back to back? I find this a very different set up, but with a room the right size, it could really work!

It also creates different conversation zones which is really neat.

If given the right room/project, would you try out this furniture placement?

{interview: so canadian, eh?}

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you are using the last weekend day to the fullest and enjoying some sun wherever you are :) Today I am over at Barbara's lovely blog, hodge:podge, where she is interviewing lil' old me in her fantastic series 'So Canadian, Eh?' I don't feel cool enough to be included, to be honest ... I mean last weeks interview was with THE Tommy Smythe for goodness sake! Be sure to check that fabulous interview out! I feel really lucky to have had the chance to become friends with Barbara, she is one sweet and amazingly talented lady who can DIY pretty much anything, so be sure to take the time to look around while you visit. Needless to say, I really thank Barbara for including me!!

So if you have ever wondered how I started up my blog, what I'm studying in school, or what has surprised me about blogging, be sure to go here to read the interview!
