{designer profile: kelly deck}

I'm excited to share the work of designer Kelly Deck with you today, not only because I adore her designs but because she is from my hometown Vancouver, BC. I've been following her career through the years and I just love perusing through her extensive portfolio. Have a little look:

So much gorgeous! That last office space has been in my dream files for some time, I love the different way of displaying frames on shelves that are painted out to match the wall - a great twist on the gallery wall!
I love that everything is clean & simple with just the right amount of pop. And her selection of fabrics used in her projects are perfection! To see more of Kelly's fab design work visit Kelly Deck Design here.

{trendspotting: grey cabinetry}

Well, you know what they say: see something twice and it's coincidence, see it three times and it's a trend! You may remember earlier this year one of the trends I predicted for 2013 was grey and putty in the kitchen. White kitchens have been almost all we've seen for the past decade, and I think that's begun to change. The last couple of years we saw white uppers & dark lowers, and now grey cabinetry is everywhere; kitchens & closets alike!

My favorite examples are on the lighter side, and I'm really digging the warm grays and putty's over the cooler bluer greys. And boy oh boy, when paired with warm metals, swoon!

And a few closet examples for you ...
So what do you think, are you liking this movement towards grey cabinetry?

{decor inspiration: crisp white linens}

Happy new week everyone! I spent some extra time cleaning around the house this weekend, I think I've been bit by the spring-cleaning bug a little early! Collecting two garbage bags worth of clothes to donate feels oh-so-satisfying, love it. And I'm itching to start scrubbing window sills, fluffing the feather duvets outside, and opening those windows for some much need freshness in this winter-laden house. So today I'm dreaming about crisp cool white linens, fresh bedding, and the feelings of spring ...

It's all so appealing to the senses, isn't it? Anyone longing for spring as much as I am?

{olivia palermo for oscar de la renta}

Our favorite style maven, Olivia Palermo, is the new face for Oscar de la Renta's line for The Outnet. The collection, which will launch on February 26, will allow de la Renta fans to get their hands on beautiful pieces for a fraction of the cost of the iconic designer's main line. There are 24 pieces consisting of mostly dresses, and I have to say, the floral prints and classic tweeds just have me longing for spring.

Below is my favorite piece from the collection, I have to admit I think I drooled on my keyboard when I laid eyes on it. I just adore the sillouette and those 3/4 length rolled sleeves. And the fabric! Unfortunately, at just under $1000 it's still not going to be entirely accessible to the average fashionista like me:

Gorgeous! It's definitely an inspiring, feminine and classic line that will have me inspired to pick out similar styles for spring ;)
Oh, and one more thing! My latest installment of 'Dissecting the Details,' over on La Dolce Vita is up, hop over to take a look at 4 elements included in the fabulous living room designs of McGill Design Group.
And with that I will bid you all adieu, have a fabulous Friday!!

{sofas at the foot of the bed ...}

Do you have a sofa in your bedroom? I love the idea of a little two seater sofa at the foot of the bed. It adds functionality to the room as well as a luxe and cozy feeling! This look would be on my wishlist for sure.

I'm particularly drawn to examples where the back of the sofa does not go higher than the bed itself. Are you drawn to the idea of a sofa at the foot of the bed? Have you ever tried the look?
