Fashion | Color Trends For Winter

Winter is around the corner! I've already begun bundling up in multiple layers - friends always tease me because I'm often always cold! So I love to look to fashion blogs, Pinterest, and magazines for winter fashion inspiration; how to stay chic while keeping warm. And in all of my scouring, I've noticed a definite trend for Winter 2014: grey perfectly paired with burgundy.

Call it oxblood, crimson, maroon - whatever the case, this jewel tone is stunning paired with comfy cozy greys. I hope this convinces you it's possible to stay chic even while bundling to brace the cold!

Living Room Lust | Rachel Parcell

I'm loving the luxe & feminine look of Rachel Parcell's living room, designed by GateHouse No.1. Each piece of furniture speaks on it own; and this room is making me desperately want a daybed in my living room (even though I don't have the room for it!).

See more from Rachel's blog Pink Peonies and her lovely Instagram here.

Designer Profile | BGDB Interior Design

I fell in love with this sweet gem of a kitchen this week, all the details are perfection! The tufted banquette, the lighting, the gas range, the honed island counter, and the artwork really caught my eye:

So I simply had to click through and see more from the designer of this kitchen - low and behold I landed on BGDB's extensive and lovely portfolio. BGDB was founded by Breeze Giannasio, a former corporate lawyer with a Harvard law degree, who redirected her career to embrace her passion for design. I love stories like that! Right brain and left brain working in perfect harmony:

And there is a lot more pretty where that came from over on Breeze's website. Hope that started your week off with a nice dose of décor inspiration!

3 Reasons To Add Leopard To Your Home

I recently added these pretty leopard velvet pillows to my living room pictured above from the lovely Arianna Belle pillow shop. I've always been drawn to this print, and I think I have 3 good reasons why.

1. It's a timeless & classic pattern. Anything you find in nature will never get old. And if you look back at rooms that include a dash of leopard designed decades ago - they are still as relevant today.  The key to using this pattern's timeless style is to use restraint when incorporating leopard into your décor. Using too many layers can look a bit more cat-lady than sophisticated, so pick and choose your leopard pieces wisely. I loved injecting flair with a simple set of throw pillows.

2. It's a neutral! The pattern works in a variety of interior styles to inject style and substance. When used in its natural brown and black coloration, leopard print acts as a fabulous neutral in any space.

3. Leopard can easy mix with other patterns, and look like a million bucks doing it. Because leopard print is a fabulous neutral, it mixes well with more colorful pieces, and adds whimsy and fun to a space.

Oh, and don't forget that this rule applies to your wardrobe as well.

Convinced? Hop over to Arianna Belle The Shop to get inspired by all the stunning combination possibilities!
